Danya Holman~JMS 7th Grade Assistant Principal
I had the priveledge of joining Jacksonville Independant School District in 2010. My career began at JMS as the 8th grade counselor before being named an assistant principal. Before joining JISD, I taught eighth grade Language Arts, Chemistry and Physics in Palestine ISD.
I grew up around the Houston area. During my teen years, my family moved to East Texas. I attending schools in the Palestine Independent School District, graduating from Palestine High School. I received my Associate in Arts degree from Trinity Valley Community College before working on my undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and receiving my Bachelor in Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I earned my master’s degree in School Counseling from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2010. I earned my principal’s certification through SFASU’s Educational Leadership and Principal’s Certification Program in 2014.
I am dedicated to creating a positive environment for students and staff while making a difference in students’ lives. In my 20 years in education, I have come to believe that collaboration is one of the main keys to fostering creativity and success in teachers and students. I also believes another important key for student success is the partnership among the community, parents and the school.
During my free time, I enjoys spending time with my family, watching my children participate in their activities and DIY projects around my house.
