All of Mrs. Carr’s math students will be required to complete 20 assignments in Khan Academy for the term 3 grading period (January 8 to March 22). Although I will provide some time in class to work on these assignments, some students may need to work of these objectives at home on a computer or phone. Students are welcome to come before school any morning or after school on Tuesdays to work on Khan Academy assignments. There will be 5 grades based on Khan Academy assignments.

 

1st Daily grade – completion of 6 assignments of the students choosing do by January 25

2nd Daily grade – completion of a total of 12 assignments of the students choosing by February 15 (this includes the first 6 assignments)

3rd Daily grade – completion of a total of 18 assignments of the students choosing by March 8 (this includes the previous 12 assignments)

4th Daily grade – completion of all 20 assignments by March 20

1 Test Grade – Rates & Proportional Relationships: Unit Test (14 questions)

 

These are assignments that have already been covered in class. However the program provides hints and videos if the student needs extra help. The unit test will not be available for the student until he or she has completed the 20 assignments. After the unit test is assigned the student can take the test as many times as they like until the end of the school day on March 22 (3:30 PM).

I am still available for tutorials on Tuesdays until 4:15 PM or any day before school between 7:15 and 7:45.  Other 7th grade math teachers are available for after school tutorials on Mondays and Thursdays if that is better for your schedule.

 I have been a teacher since 2007. I have a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters in Special Education both from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. My certifications include Math and Science 4-8 grades, ESL Generalist Pk-6, and Special Education Supplemental.
