End of Year attendance incentive

Posted Date: 04/27/26 (02:40 PM)

Good afternoon.

It's hard to believe that summer is literally right around the corner.  This year has flown by!  I have been receiving a lot of questions regarding the end of year attendance incentive, so I wanted to take a moment to review the incentives and cover the questions I have currently received.

For students to qualify for the attendance incentive, meaning their last day would be May 15th, they must meet the following criteria.
1.  Passing all classes for the year
2.  Only 3 unexcused absences (or 24 class periods) by State of Texas standards as of May 11th.
--unexcused absences mean that student was never on campus for that day at any time.  If a student attends periods 1-4 and has a doctor appointment on periods 5-8, the absence is excused with a doctor's note.
--All Doctor's notes must be submitted to the front office by Friday, May 8th
--frequent sign out
3.  Only 1 placement to OCI for the second semester.
4.  All fees (Library, Cheer, Band, Choir, etc) must be paid by Wednesday, May 13th.

For all students who qualify for the incentive and parents accept, those students will be coded in PEIMS attendance as end of the academic year 5/15/2026.  This means you will not be allowed back on campus to attend any classes.  If you earn the incentive and it is accepted, it is all or none.

We will have forms for verification of student grades, attendance, and discipline that will need to be signed by parents (for acceptance).  Those forms will need to be completed prior the beginning of incentive week.  More information coming on that soon!

Thank you for a great year thus far.  Finish Strong!!
